Cape Reinga

Home | Page Title

The Cape Reinga Walkway is a 50 kilometer ( 31 mile) hike that cuts across the northernmost tip of New Zealand. It combines walking along the remote 90 Mile Beach, a visit to the historic lighthouse at Cape Reinga and several beautiful bays. We spent three days, sleeping out in a tent two nights. Although mid-winter, the weather was mild. Rain moved in on the last day, heavy at times, but at least we didn't have to sleep in a wet tent !.
