Lake Angelus

Home | Page Title

Lake Angelus is an alpine lake in Nelson Lakes National Park on New Zealand's South Island. We hiked in along Angelus Ridge, climbing steeply up from Lake Rotoiti and then tracking along the ridgeline.

After six hours of steady trekking we arrived at Angelus Hut as darkness approached. Day two was spent exploring the tops and relaxing in the hut. Day three was a very pleasant return along Angelus Ridge to the carpark.
