We visited tropical Queensland, Australia for 2 1/2 weeks for our mid-winter holiday. After a week in Cairns we rented a car and did a leisurely circuit down to Innisfail, up over the Tablelands, up to Cape Tribulation and back down to Cairns. Great weather for most of the time. Nice break from the damp and cold NZ winter.

Despite all the spiders, snakes, jellyfish, scorpions, stinging trees and other venonmous creatures that inhabit the tropical rainforest we managed to avoid getting stung, bitten or otherwise incommoded. We did see a crocodile lolling about an estuary but he took no notice of us .... thankfully !
